Our client, an international workspace provider is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their Nicosia team!

Responsibilities:
The accountant is primarily responsible for day to day bookkeeping ensuring compliance of statutory reporting of individual entities with local accounting and tax regulations while, at the same time, being able to explain and provide relevant information to internal customers, auditors and tax authorities.

Job Details:

·      Uploads invoices to the DMS and maintains the invoice register for CYP domiciled companies

·      Processes payments in a payment platform

·      Processes expense claims and business trip claims and assigns codes in line with internal rules

·      Performs bank reconciliations for all banks

·      Records invoices in Axapta (accounting software) and prepares batches for posting

·      Resolves accounting queries with the creditors and reconciles respective account statements

·      Resolves accounting queries with the utility suppliers and reconciles account statements

·      Liaises with external service provider for payroll for the CYP companies

·      Maintains bank files

·      Verifies items billed against items ordered and received and reconciles differences

·      Collates data for compliance

·      Is responsible for monthly, quarterly and year end closings to ensure timely local statutory and IFRS reporting in accordance with corporate deadlines

·      Ensures that accounting practices comply with IFRS requirements

·      Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers

·      Deals with and provides information to external auditor (annual audits, transaction audits), tax advisors

Requirements:

·      A degree in finance or accounting

·      3 - 5 years of experience in accounting – IFRS a must, real estate experience preferred

·      MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

·      MS Dynamix/Navision/Axapta, SAP or other professional accounting software

·      Fluent in English

Key Competencies:

·      ACCA, ACA etc. qualified or partly qualified accountant

·      Knowledge of IFRS and a working knowledge of Cypriot VAT and CIT rules

·      Structured in thinking and clear in presentation of ideas

·      A team player

·      Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities

·      Proactive, able to operate effectively and independently with minimum guidance

·      Highly detail oriented and organized in work

·      Able to meet assigned deadlines

·      Able to challenge processes and implement improved working methods
